We all relate to the confusion and frustration of hitting dead ends on routes we deemed familiar as authorities shut them down to enable construction, well, the following list of roads currently shut down for construction is designed to save you from those dead ends.

Sarit Centre in Westlands roundabout is shut down and will be so for 21 days, motorists have to seek alternative routes until 12th August when it is likely to be reopened.

Sarit Centre’s roundabout construction will improve the link between Waiyaki Way to Limuru through Westlands according to the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).

Motorists headed to Sarit Centre or Oval which is the left from Waiyaki Way shall manoeuvre the roundabout on the diversion that is available on the right-hand side upon which they will take a right turn at Lower Kabete Road and proceed to Sarit Centre or Westgate Mall.

Motorists on Waiyaki Way which is on the left side of the Oval shall stick to the left and navigate the roundabout on their left-hand side through to Waiyaki Way.

The single lane of Waiyaki Way opposite Parkland road shall keep on the left and only turn on left of the roundabout to take Waiyaki way as has always been.

The lane on the left towards Oval from Parkland road shall navigate the roundabout and take the left turn at Lower Kabete to proceed to Sarit Centre.

Motorist on Waiyaki way, just across Parkland road which is the left from the Oval shall remain on the left and navigate to the roundabout on their right through to Waiyaki Way to take their usual left turn into Park road.

Motorists can also use Mwanzi road as an alternative route from Westgate mall

Parklands road from Barclays bank and Woodvale groove just next to Shell station remains closed without any exit.

A number of routes just after Garden city remain closed creating traffic jam, Outering Road which connects Thika Road to the Airport North Road at Allsops has joined the list of closed roads.

Outering road is set for opening on 28th July as the construction of a footbridge comes to an end to aid pedestrians closing the road.

To avoid getting inconvenienced, please keep a mark of the above routes.
