Kenya Power’s Token Hitch Finally Resolved

BY Soko Directory Team · September 15, 2019 03:09 pm

Kenyans were unable to purchase their power tokens via M-Pesa from the Kenya Power and Lighting on Saturday night due to a technical hitch.

According to Kenya Power, the problem was caused by a “sustained system hitch” that has now been resolved.

“Following a sustained system hitch affected our prepaid tokens generating platform last night, Kenya Power wishes to confirm that our engineers have successfully resolved the challenge,” said Kenya Power in a statement.

Kenyans had taken to social media to complain as most could not have their token remitted upon purchase via their mobile phones.

“Working throughout the night, our System Engineers managed to identify and restore the system early this morning,” added Kenya Power.

The system has maintained stable operations in the last six hours progressively sending out a backlog of tokens purchased by our “customers last night and today.”

“The outage is highly regrettable and we wish to extend our sincere apologies to our esteemed customers for the inconvenience caused,” said Kenya Power.
