Here Is A List of 10 Terrorists Released By The Police

In a bid to beef up security in the country, detectives and intelligence departments continue to hunt down criminals who have been causing unrest in parts of the coastal region.

The police department has released a list of ten criminals who apart from causing Mombasa residents sleepless nights, have also been involved in the recent police killings.

“In the ongoing security operations, the police department is looking for several wanted criminals who have been targeting members of the public ad security personnel in executing their attacks,” read a statement released by the police.

According to the police the wanted criminals are suspected to be returnees from the Al-Shabaab militia group from Somalia.

Police revealed that during their security operations, they established that the terrorists are not only based in Mombasa County but have gone beyond, as far as Likoni and Kwale County.

“We have reasons to believe that these suspects are members of Al-Shabaab, with a wide network and have been deployed in the coastal region to attack government installations,” said reports from anti-terror police.

The police believe that the criminals were part of the group that was involved in the killings of Pastor Isaac Houghton and Sheikh Omar Fumbwe, and Bakari Hamisi Mwadondo in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

On October 1st, detectives, led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) raided a house in Mombasa and captured two suspected criminals Bakari Chibonja and Athuman Nyae, and killed three others, Swaleh Yusuf, Abdalla, Salama Salim Mohamed, and Mkubwa Sadi Ramadhan.

The two captured criminals are believed to have been sent by Al-Shabaab to plan a terror attack on key government projects that were to be executed on Mashujaa Day, October 20th.

The police recovered assorted weapons which were to be used for the major attack in the suspects’ house in Dudus.
