Top KCSE 2020 Students To Secure Instant Employment

KCSE students who excelled in the recently released Kenya Certificates of Secondary Education (KCSE) are set to secure immediate employment.

According to KCB foundation acting Chief of Party Caroline Wanjeri, she confirmed that the students had secured a 3-month employment at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

The 50 of them are part of the 200 students from the foundation who scored C+ and above and secured direct admission to universities. The employment is under the bank’s apprentice program that is aimed at giving the students a workplace feels before they join the university.

Speaking to the press, Wanjeri confirmed that the students who achieved minimum university entry grade were 90 percent of the entire cohort that sat for the 2020 national examinations.

The students scored A (Plain) and A- (minus) and cumulatively rose the mean grade of KCB foundation to B (plain).

The bank intends to continue offering upcoming top performers employment as the 50 students become the first group to secure employment immediately after high school

Brian Otango from Friends’ School Kamusinga (A) and Pareyio Pion from Alliance high school (A). Those with A- included among others Mutua Patriciah Nzila from Moi Girls High School Eldoret (A-), Dennis Odhiambo from Kisii High (A-), and Victor Onyango Orenda from Maranda High School (A-) were among the Other top performers from the foundation.

The KCB Foundation provides secondary education scholarships for bright but needy students. The program targets 240 beneficiaries every year and students benefit from a scholarship for the 4 years of secondary education.

Foundation programs are designed to address issues of relevance specifically within the thematic areas of Education, Enterprise Development, Health, Environment, and Humanitarian Intervention.

The programs are customized in each of the KCB countries to ensure that they are answering the relevant development priorities
