Waikenda Favorite For Kiambu Senatorial Bid As He Gets Chama Cha Kazi Ticket

Machel Waikenda will run for Kiambu Senator on a Chama Cha Kazi Ticket. Mr. Waikenda has already received his nomination certificate after running unopposed. This means that he will be the sole candidate on the Chama cha Kazi in Kiambu County for the position of Senator.

“Am glad to have received the certificate today. This is an assurance that the race for Kiambu Senator is not just a word of mouth but a reality and a dream that must be fulfilled for the people of this great county,” said Mr. Waikenda.

The young entrepreneur says he decided to try his hand in politics, not because of what the position comes with but because of his desire and dream to serve the people of Kiambu County. He says his goal is to ensure that the people of Kiambu realize the real fruits of devolution.

“Kiambu is a powerful county. This is a county that feeds the whole of Nairobi and other counties. For years, since devolution, the county has often gotten a raw deal because of the type of politicians we have gotten. This year is a year of new beginnings,” said Mr. Waikenda.

According to Mr. Waikenda, devolution gave Kenyans an opportunity to get the first-hand opportunity of what was initially referred to as “the national cake.” He says, as a Senator, he will ensure that the great county of Kiambu gets its equitable share and the real “fruits of devolution.”

“Am taking myself to the people of Kiambu. I know that this year, they will make a difference and give a chance to fresh and hardworking blood,” said Mr. Waikenda.
