Kenya Airways has reported yet another huge loss for the first six months of the year. Kenya Airways making losses is not even a surprise, the surprise is how consistent it has been in making losses, this time 9.9 billion shillings in 6 months.
The recent loss is a 14 percent drop from 11.5 billion shillings in the same period last year. KQ attributed the loss to high fuel costs that saw the airline spend 11 billion shillings during the period under review. Total operational costs were at a five-year high of 57 billion shillings compared to 56 billion shillings in 2017.
