“Anyone in a disappearing message thread can long press on a message to keep it. The sender will be notified if it was saved and can decide if it stays or remains a disappearing message,” he declared.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

The Meta-owned platform said that if the user sent a message, it is his/her choice whether the others in the chat can keep it for later. The sender will be notified when someone keeps a message, and the sender will have the ability to veto the decision.

Meta Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg softened WhatsApp regulations to allow access on multiple devices at once.

According to Zuckerberg, WhatsApp users will be allowed to install the application on up to four mobile phones and use them simultaneously.

“Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones,” said Mark Zuckerberg in his post.

While the multi-device feature has been long available it could only be used to access through browsers, computers, or tablets. But now users can use it to log in to multiple phones as well, according to a report.

This feature will come in handy for those using separate phones for home, work, or business and are looking to use one account to link them all.

However, if the primary device stays inactive for a long time, it will automatically log out of all the other devices that are linked.

Previously, users were forced to log out of one account on a phone to access the application on a different mobile device. Alternatively, the Meta Group allowed users to access their Whatsapp on their desktops and laptops through the Whatsapp Web software.

The latest announcement came four days after Zuckerberg released an update of the user interface touching on disappearing messages.

“Anyone in a disappearing message thread can long press on a message to keep it. The sender will be notified if it was saved and can decide if it stays or remains a disappearing message,” he declared.

The updates add to the list of many others including the introduction of avatars and beefing up the security of the app with end-to-end encryption, including group chats. In addition, users can share their Whatsapp status on their Facebook timelines.

WhatsApp said in a blog on Tuesday, “Last year, we introduced the ability for users globally to message seamlessly across all their devices, while maintaining the same level of privacy and security.”

The Meta-owned platform said that if the user sent a message, it is his/her choice whether the others in the chat can keep it for later. The sender will be notified when someone keeps a message, and the sender will have the ability to veto the decision.

F the user decides that the message can’t be kept by others and the decision is final, no one else can keep it and the message will be deleted when the timer expires. It means that the user has the final say on how messages sent are protected.
