TSC Extends Teachers Promotion Application; How To Apply, Requirements And Deadline
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has extended the deadline for the plication of 36,000 promotional vacancies to 15 September 2023. Teachers have been facing a frustrating experience as they attempted to utilize the online application system provided by TSC.
Initially, the application deadline was Friday, September 8th and there was fear that thousands of teachers would be denied promotion. However, teachers have been unable to submit their applications online due to serious technical problems on TSC servers.
Teachers and their Unions called on TSC to extend the deadline by at least a week to allow them to apply for the promotion announced in August 2023.

“The Commission has extended the period of application for the 36,000 promotional vacancies to 15th September 2023 to enable eligible teachers to submit documents,” TSC wrote on its social media pages.
This extension provides a much-needed relief for teachers eager to apply for promotions but hindered by technical glitches on the online platform.
TSC advertised 36,275 promotion slots for teachers ranging from job group C1 to D5 in August 2023. These promotions encompass various positions within the education sector: Chief Principal, Senior Principal, Administrative staff members at this school hold titles such as Primary School Principal, Secondary School Deputy Principal, Senior Lecturer, Senior Master, Secondary Teacher I, and Secondary Teacher II and Deputy Head-Teacher. Other positions include Senior Master and Senior Master
As part of the application process for these promotions, interested candidates who meet the required qualifications were instructed to submit their applications online through the TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke. The original deadline for submission was 8th September 2023, but due to technical challenges, the Commission has extended the deadline to 15th September 2023.
