The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced new changes to how the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) Exams will be conducted.

TSC CEO Nancy Macharia has updated its criteria for selecting center managers, supervisors, and invigilators for the national exams. The commission directed all Sub-County Directors of Education to vet and nominate center managers, supervisors, and invigilators ahead of the commencement of KCSE and KPSEA examinations in October.

“This is to request you to identify, vet, and nominate the center managers, supervisors, and invigilators to be engaged in the administration of these examinations and assessments, deploy them into the CP2 system by 11th October 2024,” the directive read in part.

KCSE exams will commence on October 22 and conclude on November 22 while KPSEA will begin on October 28 and end on November 20. The Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations have been slated for between October 28 and October 31, 2024.

On August 30, Macharia directed the education Sub-county directors to comply with the directive and submit necessary details about successful candidates, on the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal, by October 11.

“In preparation for the administration of these examinations and assessments, KNEC will require the details of all the centre managers, supervisors, and invigilators who will be engaged in the activity,” she said.

“This is to request you to identify, vet, and nominate the center managers, supervisors, and invigilators to be engaged in the administration of these examinations and assessments, deploy them into the CP2 system by 11th October 2024, through the link/URL: http://cp2.knec.ac.ke.”

In a new precedent directed by TSC, exam supervisors will now be rotated every two weeks to enable the government to weed out cheating instances as the candidates write their papers among other additional measures.

“Centre managers will be required to verify supervisors and invigilators posted in their centers by confirming their details and workstation. They will be required to take attendance daily,’’ Macharia noted in the directive.
