Oranges Flood the Local Markets as Prices Decline

Oranges have flooded the local markets leading to a significant decline in market prices with Malindi having the lowest price of 1,200 shillings for a 93-kilogram bag while Isiolo had the highest price of 5,000 shillings.

A 90-kilogram bag of Avocado is retailing at 3,500 shillings in Mombasa, 3,000 shillings in Isiolo and Malindi respectively, 2,200 shillings in Nairobi, 2,000 shillings in Nakuru and Eldoret respectively and 1,500 shillings in Kisumu.

A large box of Pawpaw weighing 54 kilograms was being sold at 2,700 shillings in Nairobi and Isiolo respectively, 2,500 shillings in Nakuru, 2,000 shillings in Malindi, 1,650 shillings in Eldoret, 1,600 shillings in Mombasa and 1,000 shillings in Kisumu.

On the other hand, a 126-kilogram bag of local mangoes is being sold at 3,000 shillings in Nakuru, 2,700 shillings in Nairobi, 2,520 shillings in Malindi, 2,000 shillings in Kisumu and Eldoret respectively, and 1,600 shillings in Mombasa.
