Kenya’s inflation slumps down to 6.45 percent in March

Kenya’s inflation fell to 6.45 percent year-on-year in March from 6.84 percent in February, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics on Thursday.

The on a monthly basis, inflation was up 0.76 percent from February.

“The CPI increased by 0.7% from 164.67 in Feb to 165.92 in March 2016. Overall inflation rate stood at 6.45%,” Kenya National Bureau of Statistics Tweeted.

Subsequently, according to Trading Economics, Inflation Rate in Kenya averaged 10.55 percent from 2005 until 2016, reaching an all-time high of 31.50 percent in May of 2008 and a record low of 3.18 percent in October of 2010.

IEconomics projects the inflation rate to slump down further to 6.22 Percent in April.
