Senior police training institute in Loresho, Nairobi has been officially handed over to the Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji, by the Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai.

Loresho Institute was initially used in the training of officers from both the National Police Service and Director of Criminal Investigations and was handed over in a brief ceremony today, 11th March 2020.

“The institution was meant for training National Police Service Officers, formerly Kenya Police Service. Both police and DCI officers have been training here,” IG Mutyambai noted during the handover ceremony.

Mutyambai noted that the handover of Loresho Institute was long overdue and had been preceded by numerous multi-agency meetings.

IG Mutyambai also noted that the Kenya National Police Service had identified and secured an alternative location in Ngong’ for their training.

“The members of staff will not be moved by anyone, the DPP is willing and ready to accommodate our team as long as they wish to stay in the compound,” IG Mutyambai said referring to the Loresho Institute.

Noordin Haji will allocate some of the National Police Service for training.

“The DPP is willing to remain with some of our staff. We are not disappearing from this institution, “Mutyambai said.

“Senior police institute in Loresho will now be used in the training of prosecutors and police officers,” Noordin Haji said.
