Nairobi Leads With New COVID-19 Infections As 3 More Die In 24 Hours

Three more people have died of COVID-19 in Kenya in the last 24 hours with 23 more testing positive for the killer virus according to Health CAS Rashid Aman.

The 23 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are among 2100 samples tested in the last 24 hours and include 5 females, and as usual, alarmingly 18 males with the viral infection being seen to attack men more.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kenya now stands at 781 positive cases with the age group of the newly 23 confirmed cases ranging between 24 years of age and 85 years.

The number of samples tested in the last 24 hours has been reported to be 2100 by the Health CS Rashid Aman making it the highest number to be tested ever.

The 23 newly confirmed cases are spread out in the country as follows:

  1. Nairobi 11
  2. Mombasa  5
  3. Kajiado  2
  4. Wajir 2
  5. Kiambu 2

The eleven Nairobi cases are spread out with six in Embakasi, two in Lang’ata, two in Kamkunji, and one in Starehe while the five in Mombasa’s Mvita constituency.

The two Kajiado COVID-19 cases are truck drivers who had to go through mandatory testing while the two in Wajir County are from Wajir East.

Kenya has sadly also recorded the death of three more people raising the number of fatalities to 45 in the country while the number of recoveries remains to be 284 making the active COVID-19 cases in Kenya 452.

The ages of those that have tested positive for COVID-19 in Kenya is as follows:

According to the Health CAS Rashid Aman, a substantial statement will be issued tomorrow on the cessation of movement in Nairobi, Kwale, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Mandera.

The statement to be issued tomorrow will also include the way forward on the countrywide night curfew whose 21 days as declared are to end over this weekend.
