WhatsApp has granted users one of its most awaited features, the ability to edit messages. Meta continues to add more features to its instant messaging platform, WhatsApp.
Mark Zuckerberg has now unveiled that you can finally edit sent messages on WhatsApp on Android and iOS devices within 15 minutes. This is one of the most requested features, and the same is now available for WhatsApp users across the world.
“For the moments when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp,” the Meta Platforms Inc-owned messaging app said in a blog post on Monday.
With the feature rolling out globally in the coming weeks, senders will be able to modify their messages within 15 minutes of hitting send.

Note that you can only edit a message on WhatsApp within 15 minutes, after which you won’t be able to edit it. The WhatsApp edit feature can be used in individual chats and group chats. Also, when you edit a message, it indicates that the message has been edited.
Long-press on a recent text that you sent to a specific contact or group, select the three dots in the top right corner, then choose “Edit.” Now, you can edit the message and resend it. Similarly, a single message can be edited multiple times.
Currently, you can only edit messages on Android and iOS devices. If you are using WhatsApp web on a PC or Mac, you will only be able to edit the message on the primary device.
Competing apps such as Telegram and Signal already allow users to edit messages, while microblogging site Twitter rolled out the ability to edit tweets to select users last year.
