Top Gainers, Movers, And Losers At The NSE On Tuesday

The market closed the day on a mixed note, with the NASI and N10 advancing by 0.6% each and the NSE 25 rising by 0.5%. On the other hand, the NSE 20 remained unchanged.

At the same time, equity turnover softened by 11.7% to USD 2.3m. Local investors dominated market activity, accounting for 63.1% of the day’s turnover levels, up from 45.6% yesterday.

KCB was the most traded stock, accounting for 29.7% of the day’s turnover. The counter’s price function strengthened by 0.1% to KES 45.10, largely buoyed by foreign investor exits.

Stanbic and Equity Group tapered by 0.7% and 0.3% to KES 148.00 and KES 46.85, respectively. The former closed the session as the worst performing mover as some foreigners exited their positions.

EABL and Safaricom edged up by 2.1% and 1.1% to KES 192.00 and KES 18.70, respectively. EABL emerged as the day’s best-performing mover, mainly driven by foreign investor purchases. KenGen rose by 0.4% to KES 4.78.

Africa Mega Agricorp was the session’s top gainer, rising 9.7% to KES 56.50. Notably, DTB rose 2.6% to hit KES 78.00 – a record high since 14th May 2020. On the other hand, Sanlam dropped by 5.2% to KES 6.86, making it the top loser of the day.

Foreign investors were bearish in the session, with net outflows of USD 794.2k. KCB Group led the selling charge, while EABL led the buying charge.
