TSC Releases New Documents In Teacher Replacement Verification

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has officially commenced the process of notifying successful applicants who applied for the recently advertised 2,014 replacement teaching vacancies.
The application window for these coveted positions, which closed on May 19, 2025, drew thousands of qualified candidates across the country. The latest recruitment drive by TSC aims to fill teaching gaps in both primary and secondary schools, as well as in junior secondary institutions.
According to the advertisement issued earlier this year, the 2,014 available positions are distributed as follows: 1,309 slots for primary schools, 32 for junior secondary schools, and 673 for secondary schools.
All appointments under this recruitment initiative are on permanent and pensionable (PNP) terms. The Commission emphasized that only applicants meeting the stipulated academic and professional requirements would be considered.
For primary school teaching positions, candidates must possess a minimum of a P1 certificate. Those applying for junior and secondary school positions are required to have at least a Diploma in Education.

TSC has released a comprehensive list of documents that candidates must present for verification before they can proceed to the final recruitment stage.

Additionally, the Commission has made provisions for applicants living with disabilities. They are required to clearly state their disability status and the nature of the disability during the application and verification process to help facilitate appropriate placement.
Following the conclusion of the verification process, the TSC Sub-County Directors will compile a comprehensive Merit List of all eligible applicants whose documents meet the specified requirements. These merit lists will then guide the final recruitment decisions.
In a move to ensure transparency, the TSC has announced that these merit lists will be made available to the public upon request, albeit in a manner that upholds the integrity of the recruitment process and adheres strictly to the Data Protection Act, 2019.
The TSC has reiterated Its commitment to a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process and urges all applicants to prepare their documentation accordingly and await further communication from their respective sub-county offices.
As the recruitment progresses, the Commission continues to play a vital role in bolstering the quality and availability of teaching personnel across Kenya’s educational institutions.
