Former Harambee Stars Head Coach ‘Paul Put’ Banned for Life in Guinea

Harambee Stars Former head coach, Paul Put, has been banned for life by the Guinea Football Federation (Feguifoot) following accusations of breaching the code of ethics and code of discipline.

The federation’s vice president, Amadou Diaby, has been slapped with a seven-year suspension according to the BBC for breaching the federation’s code of ethics.

The Feguifoot’s ethics commission ruled that Put and Diaby had allegedly breached the institution’s code of ethics and discipline.

Paul Put joined Guinea after he left Harambee Stars in 2018 after he had led the national team in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where they exited the tournament in the round of 16.

Diaby has denied any of the offenses leveled against him through his lawyer, Malick Ibrahim.

“We believe that the facts stated are not true and we’re convinced our client has not been treated fairly in this process,” Malik Ibrahim told the press.

Malik revealed that Diaby intended to contest the decision if only to clear the name of Amadou Diaby.

“If it means going to the international body tasked with sports litigations, then that is what we will do,” Amadou noted.

Paul Put has also been fined 100,000 euros as Amadou Diaby has been fined 25,000 euros this coming after facing the sack in July 2019.

Paul Put is yet to respond to the decision by Feguifoot to ban him from all football-related activity in Guinea ever.
