Safaricom Launches ‘Mwelekeo Ni Internet’ With More Affordable Data Offers

Safaricom has unveiled a new campaign called “Mwelekeo Ni Internet”, which aims to bring more  Kenyans into the digital world through affordable data and smartphones.

The campaign is set to introduce new data offers, add more affordable 4G devices to the Lipa Mdogo Mdogo device financing plan, and exhibit the transformative power of the internet.

The new campaign also aims to educate Kenyans and enlighten them on the power of the internet and how it can be used differently to transform lives.

“With more Kenyans going online for everything, from studying to business to social networking, we see an opportunity to narrow the access gap and connect even more people to the internet. As a digital lifestyle enabler, we continue availing integrated data bundles that offer more value, delivering affordable internet-enabled devices and investing in our network to provide our customers a worry-free experience,” Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom CEO said.

Ndegwa added that the two new bundle deals give customers more value for their purchases, enabling them to enjoy their moments online, and will be complemented by other exciting data offers including a KES 10 YouTube plan.

The leading provider of converged communication solutions in Kenya Safaricom has been aggressively expanding its 4G coverage intending to have 100 percent of its network on 4G.

The largest service provider has upgraded more than 1,000 sites and brought its 4G reach to more than 94 percent of the country’s population.
