Robbers Raid Prime Bank in Nakuru and Steal 2.3 Million Shillings

A group of Five gangsters Broke into Prime Bank Offices at Westside Mall in Nakuru and stole approximately 2.3 Million shillings on Wednesday 26th January Afternoon. Police are on the lookout for the five robbers after a report was filed by the bank branch manager.

Narrating to the police, ”the five stormed into the banking hall wielding a homemade gun, hammer, knives, and a panga; and took hostage the nine staff members on duty. Said the Manager.

They were locked into the washroom by the thugs and they started searching the cash drawers. The cash stolen is estimated to be 2.3 Million Kenya Shillings.

Along the process, there was a bank teller who sustained injuries after he was hit by a hammer and was treated and discharged from the hospital.

A homemade gun, hammer, mobile phone, and 1,000 shillings have been recovered by the police from the crime scene after the incident.

It is so rare to rob a bank, only about 2 of every 100 robberies are of a bank.  Although violence is rare, employees and customers are always at high risk of injury during the robbery.

Robbing a bank is a serious offense and you could be sentenced to up to 20 years in federal prison, a fine of up to 250,000 thousand dollars, or both. If you used violence to accomplish the bank robbery, you could face more severe penalties.
