David Koros is the new Managing Trustee of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) in Kenya. He was appointed on May 27, 2023, after a rigorous selection process. He is the outgoing chief executive at Lapfund which manages retirement funds for all employees of county governments and water companies.
Koros is a seasoned financial professional with over 20 years of experience in the banking and insurance sectors. He is a graduate of the University of Nairobi, where he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland.
Koros began his career as an accountant at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB). He later worked as a financial analyst at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). In 2005, he joined the insurance industry, where he held various positions at Britam and Old Mutual.

In 2016, Koros was appointed Managing Director of the Kenya Reinsurance Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company. He oversaw a period of significant growth and transformation at Kenya Re, which is now one of the leading reinsurers in Africa.
Koros is a highly respected figure in the financial sector. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in the United Kingdom.
