The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics released a list of eight basic commodities that had registered a drop in prices in November compared to October.
In the report, the price of a 2 kilogram of maize flour was one of the food items that registered the highest percentage drop of 6.5 percent, which was only bettered by potatoes, which saw a 7.1 percent drop (1 kilogram).
The price of electricity decreased by 1 percent and 1.2 percent for 200 Kilowatts and 50 Kilowatts respectively. The prices of 1 kilogram of Sukumawiki dropped by 2.4 percent as well as maize grain with a 3.3 percent drop while cabbages dropped by 3.6 percent

The prices of Kerosene/paraffin dropped by 1 percent compared to October due to the return of the subsidy program. A liter of diesel reduced prices by the same margin.
The prices of tomatoes recorded an increase of 17.7 percent, followed by Oranges with an increase of 3.8 percent, Wheat Flour 3.3 percent, Carrots 2.7 percent, Beef 1.9 percent, and Onions 1.1 percent.
A 13-kilogram Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) saw a price increase of 1.1 percent. Cement prices were increased significantly by 1.1 percent.

According to the KNBS statement, the country’s inflation was at 6.8 percent in November compared to 6.9 percent in the preceding month.
“We all agreed to adequately address the cost of living. Today, I can stand on this podium and say that, at a time like this last year, the cost of unga was Ksh240. As I speak, the prices have dropped to between KSh 140 and 130,” the President remarked during the first anniversary of the Hustler Fund at Green Park Garden.
