KUCCPS Releases New Update To All Applicants Days After Portal Opening

BY Getrude Mathayo · April 14, 2026 12:04 pm

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has rolled out a nationwide support initiative aimed at helping candidates who sat for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) navigate the often-complex process of applying for university and college placement.

The move, announced in a notice issued on Tuesday, April 14, is part of a broader strategy to ensure that all eligible Form Four leavers complete and submit their applications for the 2026/2027 placement cycle without unnecessary hurdles.

Under the initiative, KUCCPS has established a network of support centres across the country where students can receive in-person assistance. These centres have been strategically set up in selected universities and technical training institutions to maximize accessibility for candidates from different regions

Among the universities hosting these support services are Kabarak University in Nakuru, Daystar University in Machakos, the University of Kabianga in Kericho, Tom Mboya University in Homa Bay, Moi University in Uasin Gishu, Maseno University in Kisumu, Maasai Mara University in Narok, and Pwani University in Kilifi.

In addition to universities, several technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions have also been enlisted to serve as support hubs.

These include Belgut Technical and Vocational College in Kericho, Emurua Dikkir TVC in Narok, Isiolo TVC in Isiolo, Total Technical Training Institute in Nakuru, Shamberere TTI in Kakamega, Nachu TVC in Kiambu, Maralal TVC in Samburu, Mabera TTI in Migori, and Lunga Lunga TVC in Kwale.

KUCCPS has further expanded the list to include Laisamis TTI in Marsabit, Kinango TVC in Kwale, Garsen TVC in Tana River, Endebess TTC in Trans Nzoia, and Mawego National Polytechnic in Homa Bay.

According to KUCCPS, the support exercise officially began on April 13 and will run through April 24, 2026. During this period, candidates can visit any of the designated centres to receive hands-on guidance from trained officers deployed by the placement body.

These officers are tasked with helping students address a wide range of challenges, including technical difficulties with the online portal, uncertainties around course selection, and general questions about the placement process.

The placement service emphasized that the initiative is particularly targeted at students who may lack access to reliable internet, digital devices, or adequate guidance on how to make informed course choices. By offering face-to-face assistance, KUCCPS hopes to bridge these gaps and ensure that no eligible candidate is left behind due to avoidable obstacles.

Beyond the designated support centres, KUCCPS has also made arrangements to provide assistance through Huduma Centres located across the country, further widening access to support services.

Candidates can also seek help at the KUCCPS headquarters situated at ACK Garden House in Nairobi, where staff are available to respond to inquiries and provide additional guidance.

Students who have not yet completed their applications have been strongly encouraged to take advantage of these support services ahead of the application deadline set for May 6, 2026. KUCCPS reiterated that timely submission is crucial, as late applications may not be considered once the portal closes.

For those unable to visit the centres physically, KUCCPS has provided alternative communication channels. Candidates can reach the placement body via official phone lines, including 020 5137400 and 0713 924 444, or send inquiries through email at info@kuccps.ac.ke.

This latest development comes shortly after KUCCPS opened its online portal for degree programme applications on April 7.

The application window primarily targets candidates from the 2025 KCSE cohort who attained a minimum grade of C+ and above, as well as other eligible Form Four leavers from previous years who wish to secure placement in universities and colleges.

Applicants have been advised to submit their course selections through the official KUCCPS portal before the May 6 deadline.

The placement body has underscored the importance of carefully reviewing course requirements and making informed decisions, as these choices will play a significant role in shaping the candidates’ academic and professional futures.

Overall, the establishment of these support centres reflects KUCCPS’s commitment to improving access, enhancing equity, and streamlining the placement process for thousands of Kenyan students seeking higher education opportunities.
